The very first travel photos I posted on this channel were from Santa Marta, Colombia.
In this post I share photos from other places in Colombia I have visited over the years.
The first city I ever lived in, in Colombia, was Medellin. By live, I mean stayed longer than a month. In this case, I think it was three months, and I took Spanish lessons with Colombia Immersion.
I think it is closed down now, probably due to Covid, but when it was open the building it was in was apparently where Pablo Escobar was shot.
This is a small town just outside Armenia called Salento. It is famous for trout, patacón, and Valle de Cocora.
Here is my friend walking in the Valle de Cocora. We did a day hike which was really nice. This looks nice and open but you also go through the jungle.
Here is Lago La Pradera in Pereira. Pereira is where my Mum is from. The first time I visited Colombia was on a backpacking trip with friends through Latin America. Pereira was one of the towns we visited. Back then I didn’t know it was where my mum was from, so when I found out I decided to spend more time there.
To be honest, I didn’t like it that much. I’m more of a beach person. However, I’m happy I got to experience where my mum grew up.
These stairs are in the city of Ibague. I can’t quite remember, but I think I just went to Ibague for a few days to check it out.
Here is a view from a mirador in Filandia. Both the town and the countryside reminds me of Salento.
I have been to more places in Colombia, but couldn’t track down any photos. Perhaps I didn’t feel like they had anything worth photographing.
