I remember as a child going to Bali with my dad and brother. Maybe it was my second time overseas.
On that same trip, I also remember my brother punching me in the gut, which caused me to poop myself, and getting attacked by a monkey.
As an adult I have been to Bali for two weddings. Being from Perth, you get a lot more bang for your buck to have a wedding in Bali and your honeymoon at the same time.
Apparently, it’s also a good place for dental work.
After one of the weddings, I went and stayed in Lovina for a week or so. Banjar Hot Springs is a short distance from there. The hot springs are surrounded by lush greenery. It’s a nice place.
Here is a tranquil sunset in Lovina Beach. This was back in my travel blogging days, hence the “Survive Travel” logos in the photos. See if you can find them.
Pemuteran is known for its diving and snorkeling, which is probably why I went there. It’s also close to the West Bali National Park.
Pura Agung Besakih is a temple in Mount Agung. I don’t remember much about it, but apparently they have over 70 festivals a year.
Like most of Southeast Asia, there are lots of waterfalls in Bali. This was one of my favorites - Sekumpul Waterfall. The hike takes less than one hour.
Some graphart in a typical street in Indonesia. I think this was taken in Taman Sari which is in Yogyakarta on the island of Java.
This photo was definitely taken in Taman Sari and it is looking out of a window from the Taman Sari Water Castle.
Indonesia, specifically Bali, is often touted as a dream holiday destination. The problem is that it is overrun by drunk tourists.
Mind you, that’s really only in Kuta. If you go out of that party area it really is an island paradise.
I can see myself visiting Bali at least once more in my lifetime, probably more.
